I was really let down by Remembering the Fireballs... However, These Are Not Fall Colors is probably one of my favorite records of all time.

boris - pink

I was very pleasantly surprised how much butt this kicked - I'd lumped them in with the Sunn/Earth one notemeisters.

I was on the way to the video store to pick up Breaking Away, and I almost fell over when it came on. It's officially the new Bee and the Cracking Egg, though the lp reminded me that Comets on Fire need a new record.

Right Now:

Gris Gris - new one
His Name Is Alive - Livonia

I really like that record - I fail to see how an incredibly obscure record on a micro-sized indie label that came out like three or four months ago could already be played out. I mean, it's not like they're ARE Weapons or something...

RJD2 - Deadringer
good choices. you might already know of them, but some other artists i throw in with these two are Diplo and Hollertronix. since you're into RJD2, check out the Diplo vs. RJD2 battle. DJ Shadow is worth mentioning, too.

today's highlights have been:
Cigar - Weight of the World
Stop It!! - Beethoven's Funeral
At The Gates - Blinded By Fear

also, have any of you heard the Slayer covers of Minor Threat? they're ****ing awesome.
