I'm attempting to listen to 13 metallica albumns in chronological order today. I may commit suicide by the time I reach Load (the mercy of a swift death before reaching Reload) but god knows I'll go down throwning devil horns \m/

you, sir, are a brave man.

tuesday i may have to do something like that with slayer.

Slayered a bit today, and just heard the new tune. The slow part of the beginning riff, I though this would be their short haired black album. Of course they're the only band that stayed pretty much the same, in a good way, forever. Who else could get away with a tune that actually has not just a lyric but a full line "six six six?"

But I'm still Mountain Goating, and y'all in Vancouver, Portland, Seattle, SF, LA and SD should check them out on tour starting this week. I will be anyway, hee hee. And if any of y'all San Franciscoers happen to have an extra ticket or two for the Monday all ages show at the Bottom of the Hill I will be eternally grateful. Won't have time to check the forums after tomorrow, but feel free to pm. Or look for the 6'5" guy with curly hair and glasses in line for door tix.

Oooh! I just discovered a 'new' band - Oceansize.

Kinda Tool meets Radiohead meets Tomahawk? Somthing like that. UK 'Prog Rock' outfit putting out some great soundscapes, with a smattering of nu-metalish riffage every once and a while to make sure you're still awake.

Thylacine Stamp of Approval.

Anyone think of any similar style of bands?

If it's proggy, riffy sound scapes your after, get on board with Devin Townsend! The guy's an effing genius, start with Accelerated Evolution (the most accessable) and get sucked in from there. Deep, light, heavy, dark, up there with patton as far as vocalists goes and Vai taught him to play! [/fanboy]
