you guys aren't going to believe this... but the new my chemical romance record, the black parade, is actually worth listening to. queen/rush-esque in its epic ballad sort of way. even if you've always thought they were make-up wearing *******s with ****ty music, this is worth checking out.

-Excepter- sunbomber ep(straight chill)

-ANIMAL COLLECTIVE- hollinndagain(holy awesome, dolph lundgren ain't got **** on this)

-Blood on the Wall- awesomer(so rad, so various, it goes from pixies to garage to ballads to noise in zero to no seconds)

-Converge- no heroes(not as epic as jane doe, not as "**** you" as you fail me, but not bad, not bad at all, still a rad band. haters best step)

I just got my first Sonics album (Maintaining My Cool) the other day. Kind of sad considering I've lived in Seattle for 8 years. The library system here has the Nuggets box sets. I need to check them out again. Something about this ****ty weather makes my want to listen to this kind of stuff.

"Maintaining my Cool" is pretty good, but it doesn't hold a candle to "Here are the Sonics" or "Boom."
