Cursive's Domestica... one of my all-time favorites.
Airto Moreira - Seeds on the Ground.
Today has been dedicated to listening to all the stuff I've recently (past 3 weeks) acquired. this album is a definite Must Get.

i have respect for people that are straight edge, but almost everyone i know that is still straight edge is so because they do it for personal reasons and have a sense of humor about it - they're not doing it to be on a soap box and preach about it. ask me what i listen to before you call me a mall punk and criticize my tasty beverage... i bet our musical tastes are on par for the most part. enjoy
ha! no hate, man. i thought your modification was pretty funny, and i take straight edge very lightly. i was just paraphrasing from another track on the album. (http://www.darklyrics.com/lyrics/bane/holdingthismoment.html#7)
7. Every Effort Made
Holding this moment in the palm of my hands
This thing still means so much to me
Beliefs that have stood the test of time
A force that surrounds us
Penetrates us
Binds us all together
These days belong to us
It's in the things that we said
All that it meant
Ideals that won't fade
And every effort made
And it's much more so much more than just ****ing clothes
It's in the way that you cannot sit still
Chewing on words but spitting out actions
Fire the fire that burns so deep inside
The fire that keeps hardcore alive

hey, who's on the the split with as long as we're all living we're all dying? i got a tdb sampler at a backstabbers, inc show a few weeks back, and i was pretty impressed with that band, and now i forget their name. instrumental band?
i'm not sure, but the teenage disco bloodbath site (www.tdbrecords.com) says they have a split coming out with the hound. i've never heard them, but tdb has put out some solid stuff for sure.

I never post, but I did a search for "Fela" before I even looked at the first entry in this thread, and I was immensely pleased to see this -- I'm listening to Beasts of No Nation right now. Listening to Fela keeps me warm in the New England winter.

enlacalle - i'm always down to hang out! you should come out to a show sometime. my band is supposed to be playing with our friends from Richmond, Pink Razors, on Jan 3rd if i can find a venue. you'd be into em. total Crimpshrine style pop punk, but not cheesy.
mcatano - nice choice! that's the only YK record i can really get into. i was living in the bay area the summer that came out and got to see em like 8 times and they killed. everytime i've seen them since then has been a let down.
so far this morning -

For sure. I haven't been to a good punk show in a while. The closest thing I've come to something like that recently is Lightning Bolt. I miss the days of the Wetlands (aka "Sweatglands" or "Sweatlands" depending on your preference) and Coney Island High when I was a young, starry-eyed nerd-punk and my favorite band in the world was the Queers. *sigh*
You should PM RoscoeNYC and ask if you could play the Lakeside  .
It's easy to just come out with **** like that when you're online. Teehee. :D

A band I was in was supposed to tour with YK and pg 99 right after that record came out (feb/march '00), but YK bailed. I was seriously bummed. I saw them for the first time about 1.5 years ago, right before the new one came out. They didn't play anything off the first two records. It was underwhelming. I like the first record better as a whole, but there are a few songs on the second that blow my friggin' mind.
http://serpent.pl/rewika/images/north_sepultura.jpg
Thanks!
haha no problem. it's an awesome record. i still need to get brothers, sisters. i've heard it a bunch of tour and whatnot but i keep forgetting to get it from greg when i see him. when are ya'll touring?

Barbara gets me excited too, although I liked "nichts muss" a lot more than the lippok collab album -- both of 'em sing so nicely but there's no vocals on that whole album!
