This frame looks wayyyy too milled out. Weighs only 4lbs though...also looks weak as.

[edited by moderator, you know which one :D]

sorry, my mistake...

this does look weird:
milled out seattube??

the seatstays-dropout welding area looks a little sketchy to me. tiny dropouts are generally good though, yeah?

i can't help but wonder if the superthin tubing on the rear triangle isn't perhaps getting a little too rediculous in the department of sacrificing strength for weight savings? but i might be wrong.

Yes, because they're as structurally sound as wet toilet paper. You've seen those lame fake bullet hole stickers on cars? That's the direction they're going to take. If they can't mill the frame, they'll paint it to look like it's all milled and slotted. Brilliant.

eastern has a horrible rep
ok, sorry mate, i was just going off the number of people asking about Eastern on this and other forums. in South Africa, we don't get eastern bikes, so i'm just going off people's comments. hmm... now that i write it like that it doesn't seem a very logical thing to do. guess i'll try be better informed next time. thanks for pointing that out.

and tiny dropouts suck
i'm interested to hear that. most good frames these days have them, they save weight, they don't break(that i know of, but i could be wrong) and they look alright(if your worried about such things). why do they "suck?"

everybody likes small dropouts because it's lighter and cleaner.then they crack, bend and don't cover your cog so you snap chains and teeth. if i could, i would weld lengthy dropouts on my frame

ok, thats reasonable. thanks mate.

is that what you want in a dropout?

yup

thats definately a reasonable size. when i think of bigger dropouts i immediately picture the dropouts of the earlier mongoose bottom-off-the-range bikes. was big as a cd those dropouts.

i like my small dropouts, they dont catch up on grinds and my freewheel never gets beat up cause it is rhd, i grind left.
