Does anyone else think that it might be a good idea to have a Sticky for Consumer Product Safety Commission recalls of bicycle related products? I think it would be cool to have a central depository for recalls here. I know there was a thread with a link to the CRSC website recall list a few months back, but this would be a more visible reminder to those who frequent the forum.

I would propose the following:

1. Posting limited only to moderators - So that only links to the recalls would be provided. Discussion on the recalls would not be allowed here. This would keep the thread from being too difficult to navigate and get the info.

2. Recalls would be PM'ed to a moderator for inclusion into the thread.

I like the idea, however the mods have plenty on their plate as is

Bam, just sticky this thread, and people can see all the recalls they want in this link.

I would never check a thread for recalls on products that I have a .00001% chance of owning. Now if it was a thread dedicated to one particular recall with the product name in the title, and I happened to own that product, then I'd check it out.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Release # 78-040
Bicycle Recall Announced

WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 31) -- Huffy Corp., Dayton, Ohio, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), today warned consumers that about 54,000 bicycles manufactured by Huffy may contain pedal cranks that could break without warning. Sudden breakage of the crank will cause one pedal to fall off and may result in the rider falling or otherwise losing control of the bicycle. CPSC believes that serious injury could happen if this occurs.

If it's done, I think it would fit best in the Marketplace forum.
