General Cycling Discussion - What bike should I go for???

Hi Gang,

It's time to spend soem of my hard earned money on a new bike..but what should I go for? The above bikes all hagve there Pro's and Con's, but I really can't choose between them...

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

The biggest con of the Pace is that the square section top tube is uncomfortable to sit on , whilst you wait for everybody else to catch up with you.

Hey Rich, is there much of a price difference between the c-dale and the specialized?

A couple of things that you may want to think about. According to the specs in that link, the F2000 comes with a Lefty. From what I've heard it's a really good fork but if it ever needs servicing you have to take it to a dealer. They are not as easy to work on as other forks. Plus you have to use the proprietary C-dale hub to the Lefty. This will make it more more difficult if you ever want to upgrade your wheels. In other words, no Chris King front hub. Also, the CODA components are much more difficult to come by. I had to replace my CODA crankset and Cannondale was out of stock and had no idea when they were getting more in. I had to buy one used.

On the plus side, C-dales are very light frames and handle extremely precise. I love my bike in tight singletrack. Plus, you can't beat the performance of disc brakes.

I dont think you guys realise how good Pace are. They have offset rear ends to fit a dishless wheel. To those who know, it means a wheel which is massively stronger with no weight penalty. Every tube (inc headtube and bottom bracket shell) is butted. This is a handmade masterpeice, not some fancy label stuck on a quite good factory made bike.

I must agree with Michael on this one..the Pace has got my thumbs up so far...I went to a few bike shops around town, and tried out the C'dale, the Speccy, Trek, but not the Litespeed.

Compared to the mainstream bike manufacturers, the Pace rode really nicely....

Oh, who knows????

Ba-DG-er is correct, you should test each of the bikes and see which one feels best to you.
