I have a road bike which I love for racing, etc. I'm now commuting 150 miles a week, however, and now in snow... it's become clear that I need a different bike for the job.

I'm looking at an amazing deal on a frame that's a bit to big for me (by 3 cm), and I am wondering if I should get it. Riding it around the block, it feels big but comfortable. I am excited about the price and the frame. But if I get this bike, will I regret it 500 miles later?

What is your experience with sizing, especially riding bikes on the larger end of your spectrum?

My rather limited experience is, if I can stand over the bike its not too big. But then again I havn't seen a bike too big for me (6'2" with 34" inseam) and I like stretching out on the bike.
If you can stand over the bike you can always get a shorter stem. It may not be custom sized ideal but it would probably be plenty comfortable.

One other thing to consider is chainstay length, if you're planning to attach a rack and panniers. Longer chainstays will eliminate the chance of heel strike.

if you can comfortably ride it, may be worth while if you could score an even better deal on it."I like it a lot, but the size...."
