Hi all, I just became a new member of the forum, and want to say hello. AND..... I have a question,....I'm about to buy a bike here in Germany, and could use some advice. I'm not the smallest or lightest rider, 6'2, about 125 Kilos, and ride a 20 year-old 63cm Dancelli with Falke Steel tubing. Never had any Probs, it just time to get a new bike. I finally found an italian Frame-maker, Giovanni Sancineto, and wonder if ANYONE besides maybe 50-60 people here in Europe have ever heard of him???? The frame is made of Columbus Gara tubing, and it'll have a complete Campa Veloce set of components...(Always wanted that)...The thing is NOT EVEN on GOOGLE are there any sites dealing with Sancineto frames...To make matters worse, the frame was delivered to the shop yesterday, and I went to check it out today....Paint damage, etc, AND not 63 but 62cm!!! I know this sounds like a bad omen....:-( Does ANYONE know anything about the manufacturer??? I'd really like to hear worthwhile comments...(and not just...''Don't do it!!''.........Many many Thanks for your Help,
germanrider

Thanks for the response:-) I appreciate it! Oddly enough, while searching the net, I found a link to Torelli in Italy, claiming that Gara wasn't seamed???:-(? I went to your site´, but due to the new server prob, couldn't get any farther,...Yes, I am looking for an ''old school'' steel frame, 63,64cm. I'll try your site again tommorrow, as I'm I don't want to throw what little money I have out the proverbial window:-(! Have a great day,
germanrider

No Prob:-) But what about Italian paint jobs??? This frame was delivered well-packed and nonetheless with flaking paint on the dropouts and a really crappy touch-up job.....The frame is being sent back to the wholesaler, and we'll have to see what bright ideas they have on Monday )everything is closed on Sat/Sun here....it's Europe:-(((

Hmmm you're probably right, I mean you could see not only the primer, you could see that whoever touched it up didn't know how to paint...Heck, I used a bottle of cannondale touch-up paint without an airbrush on my old Dancelli and it looks better than this:-(...Bye the bye, how's the weather there?:-) My folks are in Nebraska, and it's pretty chilly in the Midwest:-) ....Well gotta go, but I'll get back online tom., ...re this Sancineto frame, it'll be a 63 cm frame, Gara tubes like I mentioned, and 300 Euros,...about 350 USD, that's the prob., Limited finances...:-(....can you top that?:-)....Have a great day, and thanks for your time, germanrider, aka, chris
