Well NC has finally stepped up to acknowledge there are lots of riders out there. They are taking orders for personalized tags for bikers with portion of proceeds going to assist bike related issues in the state. One step closer towards progress.........we'll take it in baby steps! :D :D :D

I also disagree with the effectiveness of this license plate program, and of the STR message in general.

I saw at my LBS they had the applications on the counter where you check out. I thought that was a great way to get the message out.

Bruce, what Supreme Court case is this a quote from? I've seen this quote used by everyone from cyclists to hybrid-car fanatics to pedestrian-activists.
I'm just curious what Supreme Court case established the right to travel.
Rather than paying $30 every year to fund more of that kind "bicycle education", cyclists in N.C. could do what some other cyclists have already done: get some nice looking stickers with a less ambiguous message (such as "Same Roads, Same Rights, Same Rules"), put 'em on your vehicle(s) and then hand out any extras to your friends.

Go by bike instead."
