View Full Version : Front rack for V-brakes?

I'm building my Klein Navigator and see that I have mid-fork bosses for a front rack. I plan to fit this bike with V-brakes, and want suggestions for a front rack that will:

1. Not interfere with the V-brakes
2. Mount on the mid-fork bosses of the Navigator fork
3. Handle a small front bag (no front panniers needed)

Thanks!

Almost any front rack? I've certainly never heard of a v-brake incompatable front rack.

Blackburn front version of the MTN rack would mount on the mid-fork bosses but if you're only carrying a little bag what's the point? Put it on the back instead.

It seems to me like you need a handlebar bag. Maybe I don't understand. Usually the mid-fork bosses would be for a low rider rack which is made to support front panniers. I use a high front rack to gain some rack-top space for my tent and sleeping bag, but it does not use the bosses on the fork.

Do you have a picture of what this setup would look like?

She uses a Blackburn front rack with shelf. It mounts on mid-fork and dropout eyelets. There's plenty of clearance for V-brakes.
