Wow....I had no idea he was even in health problems. Truly one of the (if not "the") greatest comedians of all-time. We'll miss you Richard!

My favorite line(s):

1st guy: This water's cold.

2nd guy: Yeah......and deep too.

He's gone.

The best comedian ever. For me, anyway.

I'll second that. I loved anything that him and Gene Wilder did together.

Time to fire up the SL-D2 and break out "That ******s Crazy" and "Was it Something I Said?"

"She had a monkees foot around her neck and a three legged monkee. Let me tell you what, that monkee didn't give her no ****"

"Long about that time I heard a big splash. Thats when I got on that tractor and come down here"

"If you had three more inches....."

"I want you to get up on the roof, then I'm gonna run around the house three times, then I want you to jump off on my face"

From memory. Time to see how close I was. :)

The mods are 'bleeping' themselves in the Richard Pryor thread? Something about this isn't quite right...I vote to nominate this thread a "no-bleeping thread" in Richard's honour :beer:

in the 70's Pryor was untouchable, easily the best standup of his time and probably the funniest man to walk the face of the earth. He had a huge influence on me and I listen to his albums over and over. My favoirte is Wanted: Richard Pryor Live, and a great place to start if you're new to his work. Monkeys, Leon Spinks, Jim Brown are great bits. Truly a giant. To say he'll be missed doesn't even come close to describing it.

Yeah I ghot a chance to see him in the late seventies at the Front Row in Cleveland. By far the best comedy act I have seen.

RIP Richard :(

A great comediene, who will be missed.

Richard Pryor had MS for quite some time. The last time I saw him, he did a guest appearence on "Chicago Hope". He played an MS patient, it was very moving.

Did you all see the Comedy Central special: Richard Pryor, I ain't dead yet *%#@$^~?*%@#!
