BMX - brooklyn banks

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
this is one of the spots i wana visit next year when i go on my solo self-funded tour of the USA and Europe. i'll be in the USA for about 3 months hopefully.
i would like input from Queens or whoever knows the area on how good the area is for street.
all i could find was this pic:

this is rideable, they put a new black round rail in.

They took all those little planters out and put a flat rail where that guy is.
The slabs of concrete from the planters were used to make ledges scattered throughout the area.
The animal grind box is still there, and there is always wood on those 10 stairs to 360 up or whatever.
there is also a sub-box on the bank that has been there for years.
the bank to wallride had a lightpole in front of it, but they removed it, but there is a little hole where it was. nothing to worry about. there is also a nice flat bank to wall on the other side, and you can see corey martinez hit it on road fools 14
Queensrider, did you jack someone's camera? :D

If you go to brooklyn, don't make eye contact with anybody. You are white, and you might know about Americas past , with all the segragation. These poor people in these ghettos of brooklyn are extremely ignorant, and they hate all white people. If you tell them you are from Africa, they would rob you/ kick your ass. Don't trust anybody here and carry a knife
actually, about the parks thing. if you see a bunch of "shady" kids sitting around in the park which you will see, they might not want you screwing around in there. you may thnk the whole turf thing is over, nope. i once saw some kids get messed up by hockey sticks becasue they came into these kids park and wouldnt leave.
dont want to get you scared, you will prob make it out alive ;)

thanks for the heads up but as some of you might know, South Africa went through a really long time of segregation, or Apartheid as it was called here. i'm too young to remember any of it, but i was alive towards the ending stages of it. i often ride in the ghettos here, which we call townships, and i have been okay so far. i have been beat up once or twice and threatened, but i handled it okay. i have a mate from Brooklyn who was studying here in South Africa, and i took him to with me on a session one day cuz he wanted pics of BMXers for some assignment, and we got the blazes kicked out of us. he reckons our townships are pretty close to brooklyn ghettos as far as aggression goes. but there are always ways to stay outa trouble. :D
were are you going to be?
i'm not sure mate. if you guys can give me the DL on some of the sickest spots in your area, i'll check out which ones sound the best, ask a few questions and i'll probably come riding in at the spots you suggested. i want to cover as much of the US as i can. oh, and info about cheap accomodation will be awesome.
thanks.

best time to visit the banks is in August you'll probably get to ride in the next animal jam. I was told this whip is on the newly released shook video. http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/2530/97image80my.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

yo man, i busted some dope tricks on that pole. I fakied it, smith 180, opposite smith to opposite smith on the box. i manualed to 270 off that box and fell like 20 times. Bmx sucks
Who was making fun of races? He's not some snotty Mirra wannabe, probably works 100 times harder at tricks than most of you guys ever will.
doubt it.....(the working 100x harder on tricks).....
not that he doesnt work hard........hell, he probably works hard as heck......but other people do to....
Mude - that word is still not allowed, no matter what pharkin way you spell it.

Looks even better than you describe it in the old Animal vid...

"Can I Eat?" doesn't really qualify as "the old Animal vid". It's only, what, two years old? "Animal", or "Don't Quit Your Day Job" (even though Animal technically didn't exist at the time it was put out) would better fit that description.
