Hi

I just acquire a blackburn trakstand trainer and have noticed that the connections that hold my back tire in place on the trainer don't fully fit over the quickrelease. The cassette side fits well however the quick release prevents a 'full' connection. There is still some connection (a little less than half a centimetre). I am wondering if this is really a problem of if I am being to cautious.

Has anybody had this problem? How hard would it be to switch off the quick release or get the notch cut slightly bigger. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

If you got the trainer new, it should have come with a skewer that fits snugly into the trainer cups. If you got it used, the seller may have neglected to give it to you. If that's the case, go to your LBS and find one that fits right. You should probably stop training with your current skewer until you get the replacement. The snug fit is necessary to keep uniform pressure on the resistance unit and to keep the skewer from being scratched up.

By the way, changing the skewer is very easy and doesn't require any tools.

Thanks a lot. I now have a new skewer and am ready to ride.
