OK, so as seen below, I rescued an autobike from a trashcan lastnight.
I just removed the mechanism from the rear wheel and weighed it:
1255 grams!!
That's more than most rear wheels.
Another thing (almost a feature) is the mechanism was partially plastic, and clamped down by the cluster. The cluster came off with a minimal effort, no vise required.
After looking at the frame closer, it looks like it was welded in freshman metalshop.
I trued the front rim and added it to another bike, and I need the fork too. I hope I don't die.
