BMX - what are the fastest bmx tires?

I am trying to decide what tires I should put on my sons BMX bike, he races regular dirt tracks, NBL stuff, and I just bought him a new bike, MCS with all the bells and whistles. I am thinking of putting on PRIMO slics, but has anyone heard anything bad about them? Are they dangerous, do people slip off the track more often, what are the kids using that are the fastest in the country? He is 9 Novice, and only weighs about 65 lbs. I want to figure out what the best parts I should put on his bike, and its hard to find this info. Is this something to just figure out on your own???? What about intense Micro Knobby tires? Does anyone have any profile cranks for sale, like a 165 or 170 mm arm?

Maxxis holy roller up front, because it is a nice lightish, and grippy tire. i ran one for quite awhile and it was quick. and for the rear i have no idea. maybe something like a revenge industries tire.

Tioga Comp III if you're worried about crashing. They have the kind of grip that has made them the top tire for the last 20 years.

I am not worried about crashing, I am worried about getting the fastest tire, with the lowest rolling resistance. I have continiued searching, and I am finding out that the INTENSE Micro knobby may be the fastest on the market right now, but keep posting!!!!!!!

Speed without traction is not a good mix. And for a 9 year old, tires probably aren't go to make a huge difference.

i've been racing nbl for the past 9 years, and for probably the last 5 i've had the same tioga comp III on my front rim. it's awesome. on the back, i've been running irc sirens for the past few years. they have been great. no problems, they last a while and they stick to the turns. oh, and irc sirens have one of the lowest rolling resistances.

Thanks Snuggie. I suppose track surface plays a big role in tire section too. Our track has a lot of hardpack, and a bit of loose dirt in some sections. Comp III's provide the best traction for those conditions. I also run Kenda K-Rad tires, but they seem to be picky about air pressure. A narrow K-Rad would be good on a really hard, smooth track.
