oops... sorry, coffe lingo for 2 cream 2 sugar
and i guess for those who dont know, Tim Hortons is the Canadian version of Dunkin Donuts
Tims always toasts my bagels despite the "not toasted" I tag on to every order. *sigh*
Now I'm thinking feild trip from work. I wish we had Dunkin Donuts here *sigh*....their iced lattes are so yummy.
Btw....I haven't had a lot of problem with them messing up the orders. Last time I had an iced capp I did find a broken fingernail (which I had not ordered. :-) ) in the bottom of the cup. Everytime I think about ordering an iced capp now, my stomach turns.

Maybe you'll get lucky and Dunkin Donuts will expand. It is getting bought (http://money.cnn.com/2005/12/12/news/midcaps/dunkindonuts.reut/index.htm) from its current owner, a French beverage company. Maybe the new owners will expand to Ontario, just for you. ;)

Technically we've never discussed it before. That thread is now a ghost of the BF past. :D
WHOO HOO! The sad reality is that, thanks to the saturation of Tims in this area, it's kicked the tush of every other coffee chain which has come to this area....except for Starbucks. It would be a sad, sad, day if Starbucks left.

My family and friends know to never ask me to make (or help with) the food runs. I always end up getting Ms. Swan taking the order. Last time I went, I wasn't driving or ordering. The order was still wrong.
My wife has gotten used to either eating in, or picking up food on her way home.

One of the many reasons I am a firm believer that the drive through should be for Coffee Only!!!

the stupid tim hortons in this city always seem to mess up my order, even when i go in to the store and talk to them in person!
LEX - yeah, they always used to toast mine even when i told them not to toast it, but i kinda got used to them toasting them, and actually quite like it now.

I didn't realize either but then I don't eat Kit-Kats.
The thing that surprised me most moving to Canada was milk in a bag. Yes, I know that sounds really stupid but there it is. :D

Not sure about Kit-Kats, but it's very common for recipes to change slightly (or sometimes dramatically) to suit regional preferences.

yeah, Before I moved to canada, I never knew there was such a thing as milk in a bag, but the thing that shocked me most was 2L cartons of milk, and 4L Jugs of milk!! i thought that was insane!!

Obviously you've never seen Lethal Weapon 2. Everyon that has knows:
"They **** YOU at the drive-thru, okay? They **** YOU at the drive-thru! They know you're gonna be miles away before you find out you got ****ed! They know you're not gonna turn around and go back, they don't care. So who gets ****ed? Ol' Leo Getz! Okay, sure! I don't give a ****! I'm not eating this tuna, okay? "

I've seen milk in a bag down here, but it was as part of the drunk tank happy meal. I gave mine away and used my bologni and ketchup sandwich as a pillow. Now that I think about it, that meal may have in some small way helped me to reform my dumb punk ways. I enjoy good food too much to risk losing it.

SO!!! Just when i thought the people at tim hortons couldnt get any stupider, this happened this morning..
Its about -15 this morning, and windy. I go to the tim hortons drive through, and i see this girl standing at the intercom, im thinking its a bum asking for change, but no! Its a tim hortons worker standing there looking very cold taking peoples orders because their intercom crapped out! This poor girl standing out in the cold in a dark back alley at 7.30am!!
Would it be so hard to put a sign on the intercom saying "please make your order at the pick up window"?!?!
I'm seriously considering going back and telling the manager that she is a moron, and i hope that the poor girl standing outside got some sort of a bonus for doing it.
But to my suprise, the girl had a great smile on her face when i ordered. However, its pretty weird making a drive through order to a person standing in a pile of snow!

Tim Horton's has twice given me a Boston Cream donut with no Boston Cream. I even complained once and they looked at me like I had 3 heads just for complaining about such a stupid thing. I even had to ask them to give me one with cream in it because they didn't offer to fix the mental and emotional damage caused to me. And the one they gave me also had no cream in it. As for which is better, Tim Horton's or Dunkin Donuts, the answer is Krispy Kreme.

He was a former hockey player who founded a chain of coffee shops which are now owned by Wendys and kick the tush of any competition that comes into the area with the exception of Starbucks.

That's sacreligeous and shouldn't be allowed within the NYC limits.

agreed, spinach should stay where it belongs, in a rabbit cage.
Life with drive thru's is a small amount of errors, I know, I worked in the industry for 3 years. That said, I HATE when they get my order wrong, and there is no excuse for foriegn objects (i.e. broken nails) in food!

I have problems with Tim Hortons drive throughs as well. Everytime I go through one and order a black coffee I get given a cup of dishwater.
It doesn't stop there either, they even do it to me instore and then swear up and down that this is coffee. Bare-faced cheek is what it is. This pernicious refusal to use espresso machines is beyond any human understanding.
Still the OP gets everything they deserve for having milk in coffee. When I'm ruler of the world this will be punishable by death, or worse.

I don't, not any more. I just can't understand why Canadians persist in calling this watery nonsense coffee. It's not, it never will be, you're just lying to yourselves in a sad pathetic little way. It's one of the very few failing of this great nation.

A little sugar is OK. But you're on my list for the milk/cream. Better pedal fast when my revolution comes.

Starbucks is the happiest place on earth. I know you probably thought it was Disneyland but, nope, it's Starbucks. I limit to once a week but still....*sigh* Can't wait until summer for the Black Tea Iced Tea Lemonades.

Second Cup are OK enough but I prefer the indies and Timothy's. The basic rule is that if it serves espresso based coffee and isn't Starbuck's (ptui) then it's better than Tim Hortons.

It's an aquired taste. I heard on the radio the other day that the way that Tims has cornered the market has been to get Canadians accustomed to really strong coffee.
