It's probably real, BMW does make bicycles, including a folder; check google. Not sure how good the ride is or the value.

I saw it in e-bay a couple of weeks ago - a Very nice folding bike (has 26'' wheels)
Can you post a picture ?
What kind of components, exactly?
Personally, I wouldn't trust car people to produce a good bike, but ride it and give us a lowdown on how it rides and folds.

Koffee,
Check the following bike (Probably not the exact bike, but still):
BMW Folding Bike (http://cgi.ebay.com/BMW-Q6-S-XT-Mountain-Bike-Folding-Bike-New_W0QQitemZ7204317204QQcategoryZ98083QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)
It's essentially a Montague, BMW and Montague partnered to build a line of bikes that were the 'official' bike of the 1996 Olympics.
"Lots of car marques are finding their way onto bicycles these days, including BMW. The BMW folders are built by Montague, which also makes its own line of well-regarded folding bicycles. In fact, if you want full-sized wheels in a reasonably quick-folding machine, and don't mind that it won't get all that small, you might want to investigate the various Montagues. I tried both BMW models, the road bike ($700 and up) and the mountain bike ($800 and up, with or without suspension), and found them solid, if uninspiring. The patented Montague folding mechanism is a bit clumsy; it requires removing a wheel, and breaking the bike down takes much longer than the Swift or the Brompton." http://www.swiftfolder.com/review.html

I personally could never buy a BMW bike as I take a huge personal offense to their vulgar symbols of conspicuous wealth and consumption aka the Z5 and Z3 SUVs that constantly infringe my safety on my way to and from work.

Great idea.
This picture (of which I can proudly admit authorship) pretty much sums up my sentiments. Sorry to be off topic and ranting. The owners of these moving castles seem to think they're special for some reason and the vanity and selfishness of it all offends me!

Hey,
I just found an "Active Line" frame, have you taken any pictures of yours? I'm interested to know what you've done with it since you picked it up.
