Mountain Biking - I ordered a new bike today.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Well I ordered a new bike from a new Company out of Vancouver Canada. It is a Banshee Scream. Here is a link to their website. (http://www.bansheebikes.com/bikes.php)

Sweet lookin' ride. You'll have to post some pics of your first drop on it. From the geometry, that bike is all freeride.
Whats with the martini glasses? Toasting the new ride huh?

You won't regret it. All of the people I know that ride it love it. :)...
Of course they all ride the shore where the bike was MADE for, so you know it is a) tough and b) who gives a crap how heavy it is ;). Damn beasty things that it is :)
Enjoy and don't break yourself :) The warranty on that bike ROCKS if you go hard on it. You won't have to get a new frame for 10 years.
We have a stock of replacement frame parts in Vancouver, our policy will be to send parts now, ask questions later.
Gotta love Canada :D

O Canada, our home and native land. True patriot love, and all thy sons commands. With glowing hearts, we see the rise, the true north strong and free. From far and wide, O Canada, we stand on guard for thee. God keep our land, glorious and free. O Canada, we stand on guard for thee. O Canada we stand on guard.. for.. thee.
*done singing*
*crying* *sniff* good ol Canada

Oh I know I am gonna love it! I rode one at the show in Vegas last Saturday. Then I met a guy here in Austin with one and got to ride some urban on it.
I dont care about the weight my Stinky is around 45 lbs, i dont think I will notice the extra few pounds.
Congratulations on your new bike.
I really envy you guys, having so many brands to choose from and such cheap prices. In my country we have little choice and we have to pay sky-high prices.
Lovely bike, enjoy it.

from the looks of it it's a Boxxer with coverings. If you look close to the hub you can see the red from the fork legs and up by the stem you can see some more of that trademark boxxer red on it

Sweet!
The martini glasses add a little flair of class to the picture. That kind of sucks, you need to cut some beer mugs or a bottle of Jagermister in there :)
Did the engine fall out? Just kidding - GREAT looking scoot!!! You're going to have some great times with her. :)

Similar design but much burlier. People who own that here broke stinky's but loved the design. So they buy this beast.

Yep Gucci all the way. Except I hate Boxxers so I asked Pippen If there was anything he could to for me and it so happens they have two 2003 Marzocchi JrT's. So he is hooking me up with one.
Also I like Avid discs better than Hayes so I am gonna put some 8"
Avids on when I get it. I am also gonna switch out the seat, grips, pedals and front tire. In their place I am going to put a Titec Berserker, ODI lock ons, Kona JackSh!t pedals and a Gazzaloddi 2.65.

Geez....I wish I had the dough to get a new bike or at least upgrade some stuff. But I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel just trying to get some eyewear!!
Being a shop monkey is a mixed blessing, you get discounts, but you don't make much money, plus you are surrounded by stuff that you'd like to have, so saving up for something takes some self-control. I kinda want to tell my boss, "Don't pay me, just get me a bike." But then I'd be so in debt to him, and I wouldn't have money when I need it. Plus we only have Specialized and Trek(I could get a Fisher,Klein, or Lemond if I wanted), but they don't make the kind of bike I'm looking for(Giant AC sort of bike). I think my boss would be a bit ticked if I showed up one day on a new bike I didn't get through him.
Kevin, what company does your shop go throught when you need to special order something? My shop uses The Hawley Company, but they don't seem to have a very wide selection.

If you mean for parts and stuff we use QBP, BTI and SBS.
For the Banshee I just called and spoke with the owner Pippin Osbourne who I had met at the show. I just said hey I cancelled my order for a 03 Stinky Primo and I want a Banshee Scream and he said cool.
Have you check out the Specialized Enduros or Big Hit Comps?
"I am the engine!!!"
Great bike Kev...it'd eat mine for breakfast :D
Rich ;)
