Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Joe, when I attempt to vote on the "Why Do You Ride" poll, I get the following message:
"The action you have attempted could not be performed as your session appears to be invalid. Click the below link to attempt this action again with a new session."
When I click, I get the same message again, ad infinitum.
But, I can do everything else. This has happened before, but on my computer upstairs, I believe I can generally vote.
I know, I know, get off my lazy butt and go log in upstairs and vote.
Any thoughts??

Now I am getting the same message on BOTH computers. Sigh. If I can't vote, I may as well have registered Independent!!

Joe, I still can't vote on either computer. Used to all the time. What's up?
Still get the same message:
"The action you have attempted could not be performed as your session appears to be invalid. Click the below link to attempt this action again with a new session."
When I click, I get the same message again, ad infinitum.

Ok, i have had quite a few reports of problems in the last week or so. It appears that my webhost has updated the version of PHP that this server runs on. The vB people who produce this software relieased a newer version of the software a few weeks back. I have not yet upgraded due to the amount of "hacks" or code changes i have on this site, close to 200 minor template changes, and some major code changes.
I will attempt to make a backup of the current changes, and upgrade the forum software this weekend.
Dang computers! :)

Hey Joe!!
I still can't vote in polls, and still get the same message.

I have logged out and in. Still can't vote.
Any suggestions

What happens when you click the "try again" link? I have been making notes of my template changes, yet have not had the time to upgrade the forum software. I’m moving this week, it may take me a few weeks down the road before any major changes...

I GET THE SAME MESSAGE AD INFINITUM!!
I'm on another board (on another subject) that uses the same software, and several users (myself included) have had the same problem.
I'm guessing that you're on AOL and using the AOL browser (which is actually just IE with some of it's functions disabled). If so, launch Internet Explorer separetly from AOL and see if that doesn't solve the problem.
That works on the other board I'm on.
Don't ask me why it works. It just does.
Judging from the URL of your webpage, I am correct about you being on AOL, no?

Yes, AOL.
It has worked fine for two years on AOL, and I guess I don't want to have to figure out how to launch IE separately and then how to get onto AOL, etc.
While I would like to vote - not that much!!
While I would like to vote - not that much!! :D Yea, you have to want to vote.
How to do it is fairly simple. Log on to AOL first; then you can minimize AOL Find Internet Explorer on your start menu and start it. That's it.
Admitedly, that's not a solution to the problem; it's a workaround.
Voting using the AOL browser used to work on the other board, too, until they did a software 'upgrade'.

Well, you were RIGHT, and I voted.
They must have something against AOL, but I voted just fine.
Thanks. Very, very strange.

I can't vote either. I get the same message as you other guys. I have assumed the reason is I have an I-Mac.
