"The Brown Truck of Joy" just delivered my new new set of heavy weight silk long-johns that I ordered from Cabela's.

I'm planning on using this stuff as a base layer, anyone else wear silk as a base layer? What are your opinions?

I use silk sock liners on really cold days and they're fantastic when combined with a medium weight smartwool hiker.

Silk is an AMAZING base layer. It's also amazingly expensive.

Silk is comfy, but I have not found it to be as durable as other materials for sport use.

Just got some silk socks from Campmor (on sale, not expensive). I'll see how my feet feel on the bike tomorrw.

I live about 4 miles from the Campmor store in Paramus. The brother of my brother-in-law works at Campmor.
