We have been riding a Counterpoint Opus Mark II since the late 1980's. Ordered from the original designer. Other companies now make them. Is anyone else on these forums have one? Any comments?

Oh I love that concept, i never got to see one in person but i think is very interesting, specially if you have a blind partner or not totally able rider since the recumbent possition offer so much support and stability.

please post some pictures if you can and your overall experience about the bike

Had the opportunity to ride a Counterpoint, both as pilot and as stoker, in the 1980s. Quite the concept, especially since the pilot (sitting in the rear) could whisper 'sweet nothings' into the stoker's ear!
Stoker postion (up front/reclined) was neat as you could push with your back into the rear of the seat to get a bit more 'push' out of the pedals.
The Pino, made in Germany, has refined that concept a bit more and even has a 30 lb. titanium version.
Pedal on TWOgether!

Anglelake and Bilenky apparently still make them. Try bilenky.com and click to Viewpoint (what he calls them). He has some good pictures. I do fine with handicapped stokers, even leggless ones. If you want a scary thrill be a stoker on one of these as we drop down the Pine Flat road in Sonoma County, CA. Some 12 miles and 3000+ feet of new, smooth and very twisted asphalt. You have nothing between you and a horrible death but the captains' skill. If you are in the area . . .

Anglelake

How about Angletech?

I believe their "Harmony" may be made by Dennis Bushnell in Seattle, who fabricated the lion's share of James Weaver's original Opus Counterpoints (including yours) as well as a few of the three-seat "Waltz" bikes where the third rider sits recumbent style but facing backwards.

Bilenky's version of the Counterpoint, aka, their Viewpoint, has a number of improvements over the Opus IV.

Thank you for the correction. I found the error during a google search. Now I'll look for the 3-some. In 1988 I found one of the hand-cranked tandems in Steamboat springs Colorado.
