I've seen an even cooler poster with a similar concept. It showed a vast freeway system that was in a state of decay, with a large city in the background (Seattle?). There were no cars in the scene. There were a few cyclists on the freeway ramp in the forground, riding on dirt covered pavement. In fact, it was from the BAW, the same group that put out the above image. Anyone have a link to this image?? I'd buy the poster if I could find it.

Thanks! I've been looking for that photo for a while now. If it was photoshopped, they did a really good job, the paint of the car on the ground shows the imperfects of the road perfectly.

Imagine how crowded it would be if a 5-lane bike path was required to handle flow in just one direction :)

women would be so much hotter, for so much longer I hear that all the ladies in my school are hopelessly frail and delicate.

What's the BAW?
Bicycle Alliance of Washington. Just follow the link that the OP included.
When I am rich and buy a country this will be reality, less the car lane of course.

*sigh* wow wouldn't that be great! Lately I've been thinking more and more often just what my commute would be like if there were considerably fewer cars around. Hell my commute, my whole life. Makes me sad.

I don't know guys, we see how people drive with 3 ton cars on their hands...do you really want to see what these people are capable of when the stake are lower?
I think the rewards of cycling are its own best kept secret.

IchbinJay, I think that once people start riding they'll notice just how important not crashing is on a bike and may behave much better than when they have a trusty 3 ton cage around them.

I just found out that the above image, and 3 others, are posters that the BAW sends out to you when you join. I'm a member, but never recieved mine, so they are sending me the posters this week. Coolness :D
I think the car lane is a great touch. Maybe with a few more sprigs of grass and weeds growing through the pavement!
Waaay hotter dudes.
Ummm this image is now my 'wallpaper.' yay.

You know... when I'm driving on the interstates I drive in the left lane, too.

You drive on the left even when your feet are driving a bicycle? Lots of places to do that on the right shoulder. Only found one place on I-70 just east of Idaho Springs, Colorado where you can be in the left lane. Momentarily true but still there.
