I got a pair of kashnir answer winter boots. Yesterday almost 20 miles 2 hhours 1 thin 1 thick pair wool sock. My feet were not 'warm" but they were not cold either. 21 degrees, zero with wind chill. at about 140 dollars a lot cheaper than lakes. I'm not saying better, they probably are not quite as good, but for me $ was an issue. Available from Performance

They look to be a reasonable alternative and are available at AEBike for $107.99 + shipping.

I have "heard" they're not as warm but have no first hand experience with them.

I still have my Lake Winter boots but i am favoring the 30 dollar pair of insulated and waterproof BOGS (fIshermen boots) Tillamook Bay i bought a month ago.
These and a pair of battery powered socks seem to work fine in single digit windchills on Lake Michigan.

That is a great deal.

I bought my Lake MXZ 301's for about 167.00 total at AEBike.

I see they have a pair of last year's model Lake MXZ300 for 119.00.

Tis all about lookin' around

I have the Lake MXZ 300 Winter shoes on eBay, right now, no reserve. They're like brand new.
