The Gateshead Millenium Bridge over the River Tyne has just won the most prestigeous archituectural prize in Britain.
Its a wonderful structure, designed for cyclists, with a segragated pedestrian path, so you can ride at proper speeds. Its really something special, so do check out the link.

Have any of you Northerners used it yet ?

Cool, in one pic the suspension cables look like spokes fastened into spoke nipples on the upper arch, which resembles a bicycle rim.

I can see why it won the award.

No , but i did pass the bridge on my way to Scotland and back, very nice bridge tho`
