Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Do Colnago frames run big?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I read a review of the Colnago that claims that, due to the geometry of Colnago bikes, one should buy a frame a size too small for optimal fit. There is a nice Dream Pista frame on E-bay, but the size is a 55cm, the largest size I can fit. (52-54 is what I ride normally). Will this bike actually fit more like a 56-58cm track bike? No need to sell off all of my earthly belongings for a bike that won't fit! Any help would be great, thanks.

Alternate question.
Would the money be better spent on a high-end wheelset and cranks for my old frame, or should I go for the 'Nago (if it winds up being a good fit)?
Some heavy hitter has entered the ring. It's gonna be a fight! (hope it doesn't go banannas like dolface & the 3rensho...)

I don't know about their track frames but the few road frames that I have ridden seem fairly standard.

Yup. And I wish that I could score it for, like, $550.00. Hey, it is called a "Dream" frame, right? ;)
I'm gonna end up OCD like dolface over this one... :(

Screw the Colgnago. Get stock aluminum and bondo. Don't forget to dig up some nylon screen and an old phone card, too.
Here's a geometry chart...since the TT is 552mm that pretty much says a 55 fits like, well, a 55.
