Our daughter (full grown) is 4'4" (disabled). In the past, our family enjoyed biking - she rode on a tag along. Now she is too heavy for that. We're considering a tandem. I'm 5'6". We can't find a Tandem that will accomodate the two of us. Anyone know of any tandems that would work for us?

I've come across two possible solutions in recent web wanderings

1 - A full custom frame

2 - A child stoker adapter

This is a second set of cranks which clamps to the stoker seat tube.

YudDenise,
Take a look at Cannondale Tandems, they build a tandem with a 16" stokers seat tube. I have had riders as short as 4' 8" on mine. You will need to use a longer stoker stem so she can reach.

Or you can use a kid back crank set, this is a crank that bolts to the seat tube of a larger tandem so kids can stoke. Take a look at Burley Tandems web page, very good tandems by the way.

or a full out custom...

My 4'4" son rides on our Trek t200 tandem. Its a 50/48 frame and we use crank shortners when he rides. Turning the stoker's ram horn handlebars backwards helps him reach.

You should check out a Close Coupled Tandem. I bought one about 6 months ago and it works out great with my both my son and daughter.
