This is an exceptional show. I watch one hour of television a week, and this is it. It should be discussed.

I've never watched it but from what I've read it falls away somewhat.
Is this true?

It means that after an excellent start to the series it gets progressively lame.

? ? ? ?
is this something on cable or hbo?
edit: I just saw the comment re: one hour of tv a week, so probably not cable or hbo. I'll google it.
I've been watching "LOST" from the first episode. IMHO, the first season rocked! It was excellen. Now the second season has us investing more time in the show but we are not much more foreward in the islands timeline than we were when we left last season. Sure, we have information about the other crash survivors, but please.... take me somewhere new in the story... this 3 minutes of current time then 10 minutes of back story sucks big time.
I don't know if I'm coming back for season three, the show is probably going to end as someones dream sequence. <Sigh>
Please, may I have the last season of OZ on DVD?

I think the show is actually better now, since a lot of grondwork-laying and preliminary stuff is out of the way. Also, some of the really weird, wild stuff just hinted at in the first season is really out front. My biggest fear is that if they don't start wrapping up some of the story arcs, it's going to become a confusing morass. But I'm still digging the heck out of it.

I love that show! It's filmed right here on Oahu so a lot of the locations are places I'm familiar with.
My brother was at CompUSA last week and he met Hurley:
Before the show even started airing, my friends and I were on a bike ride when we passed by the set near Mokuleia Beach. The plane wreck was awesome - it was so real that it gave me chills to see it. At the time, we had no idea what a huge hit this show would be.
By the way, Michelle Rodriguez is a wonderful actress, but she's also quite the psycho. 3 speeding tickets and a DUI in the last few months here on Oahu. One of the tickets clocked her going 90mph in a 35mph zone. When she was arrested for her DUI, she was over twice the legal limit, and she also urged the police to shoot her. Psycho. . .

Wow! Talk about being too much in character.
That's just too cool that your brother met "Hurley."
Lost is an amazing show. ABC Wednesday, 9:00 PM (EST). I wouldn't try to pick it up in the middle, though. Somehow see all the previous episodes (DVD?) and then you'll pretty much have to watch. I agree it's slowed down a bit this season. I keep waiting for it to kick back into a higher gear. Which I'm sure it will soon.
I don't know about anyone else, but I've been frustrated by the number of reruns this season. What's up with that?
Like Krispistoferson, this is the only hour of TV watching I actually plan.
I agree with the reruns comment. I think there is only one more new episode for this seaon. I became really frustrated partway through the first season, because nothing was happening and the characters annoyed me. But the second season has been very enjoyable. Not as enjoyable as America's Next Top Model, but still, an excellent show!

This is exactly the type of show I never watch. I know a little bit about it because 2 local morning show hosts won't shut up about it. It gets weirder all the time. Every time a mystery is solved, something stranger is added. The theory is the same as with the show Alias, which I am glad to say I quit watching long ago. I can't stand those stupid ABC shows that leave never ending cliff hangers, leaving viewers hopelessly addicted.

Yeah, it's better when everything gets wrapped up in a half hour, like in "Full House" or "Perfect Strangers." This is exactly the reason I watch the show, as I feel long story arcs and intricate plot lines are a sign the writers are not insulting the audience's intellect.

Thats one thing I can agree with you about. 1/2 hour issue tackling shows are trash. I have nothing againsed lost, its just not my style. Another show that does this sort of cliff hanging is 24. That stupid show is so detched from reality that I had to struggle to watch the few episodes that I have seen. Lost on the other hand is a certifiable fantasy show, so I can't really fault it for being unrealistic, but again, its not my style.
One thing that 24 does that lost doesn't is conclude the story line with every season finaly. An even more extreme example of milking a plot line is that stupid prison break show (another one I'm proud to say I've never seen). My theory with that one is that you can save yourself an aweful lot of time and effort by watching The Great Escape.

I've never seen 24. Been meaning to rent it, since I missed the first season, and just never got around to watching it. I think I'll hit Blockbuster tonight.
The Shield is THE best show on TV. Yeah, "just another cop show". Right :p

Rerun (or is it recap) episode at 8 EST, followed by "all new" episode at 9.
Woot.

Pretty much every cop show is a stupid mockery of reality. Even Cops is unrealistic, as it shows crazy crap that happens about twice a month or less in most jurisdicions.

Okay I watched it. SPOILER WARNING: skip rest of post if you haven't seen this week's show yet.
OK. So when Jack's wife said she was leaving him because "he always has to have something to fix," did anyone besides me think that Jack could have saved his marriage if only he'd had... a bicycle? ;)
This was a good episode I thought. Hard to know what to make of 'the others,' though they do seem to be in control of the situation, don't they? I wonder if we'll ever see Michael again (I think we will), or whether he was really 'chatting' with Walt (I doubt it).
New one again next week!

Season 2 doesn't come out until Feburary in Australia, which is very annoying. I couldn't help myself so i downloaded Season 2 episodes 1-10. I can't seem to get any more. What episode is it up to in the US?

The preview for next week's episode showed someon lifting Aaron out of his crib. Does anyone think it's the Others taking him? Discuss.
BTW, Aaron is a hebrew name meaning shining light, high mountain, messenger. And we know it would be very, very bad for the world if anyone other than his mother raised him.
Lastly, what ever happened to the guy they found in the bunker? The one Jack knew from before. He ran off into the woods never to be seen again, but he couldn't have gone far...
I missed lastnights episode can anyone tell me what happened??

Well, I hate to spoil it for you. But if you insist...
A spaceship landed and carried off everyone except Charlie and Hurley, who are now lovers.
No, not really. Here's the real deal: http://www.tv.com/lost/the-hunting-party/episode/546048/summary.html

Dude! You missed it! Jack, Locke & Sawyer met the Others, Mike knocked Locke out and went to look for Walt and Hurley & Charlie can't figure women out. Lost-tvforums.com has like a million pages on the Hunting Party. There's a theory that there's two groups of Others. The captain's group and Ethan's group. But now I'm speculating.

I stopped watching Lost for the same reason I stopped watching Alias. Polar bears, Rembaldi, repeating numbers, the Durango heart...why can't it just be about survival and sociology on an island. Like that awesome show that started with a "three hour tour, a three hour tour."

They've definitely taken a couple pages from "Twin Peaks" and "The X-Files'" playbook, with the kooky dream sequences, and all. I was wondering when they where going to do this storyline, where one of the castaways is demonized and ostracized through no fault of their own, (although, I wish I knew why Charlie had the heroin, to take or ?) I wonder exactly how bad off Charlie will end up, and if ultimately, he'll join the Others, through some weird turn of events. I'm also curious to see how their army will turn out, and where the Others came.
I feel Charlie had the H as a test of will. He had it, he knew where it was... available anytime he wanted. To keep it was a test of his inner resolve to stay clean. But if he had instead let it be destroyed with the plane and it's contents, it would have been a done deal and he have nothing to test his will.
He probably would have recieved more support from the others if he'd have been straight up with them about him having it and his reasons why instead of being deceptive . Now, regardless of what he says, it just looks like he's making up a cover story.
This show needs a serious dose of get the fec on with it.
