Guys, anyone know what the story is about the Gemini 1000/2000 frame recalls (look it up at the Cannondale website)? I registered my bike online about a six weeks ago and got a letter from Cannondale US on Saturday morning. I phoned the lbs I got the bike from, and they say they've seen the recall notice but have not been officially notified to handle it, so they/me wonder if this might just be a US recall only? I've emailed the Holland subsidiary and I'm waiting for their reply.
It seems there was a manufacturing problem with the headtube/downtube butting thickness and Cannondale are giving out gauges to all dealers to measure the width of the tubes. Any frames found to lesser width will be replaced as a warranty fix.
