General Cycling Discussion - Bike Club

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Well some of you might remember a while back I posted about starting a bike club at my university, well I did it, and it's actually going to work out! we got 10 members now, and just had our first meeting and group ride (although only 3 people showed up it's still better then nothing) :)
I've got a lot of work to get this thing into a respectable club, but I'm happy I got some people interested :)

Well done. I'm sure it'll work out well for you and you'll be able to introduce a whole bunch of new people to the forums.:D
Enjoy riding with the new club and keep us informed.
Hope everything works out with it! What's the makeup, BTW? Any roadies?
At my university, the long-established cycling club had morphed into an ATB-specific club, one that looked down at road riders. From the pics they used to post on the club website, it seems all they did was ride their bikes through flowerbeds, railroad rights-of-way, and rode through mud puddles. I went to 2 meetings, suffered through lousy beer and bad food, hoping that at least one other road cyclist would show up. None did, even though there were several roadies on campus.

The only organized club in our area is MTB. Though several of the members do some group road rides as well. Focus of the club is strictly MTB.
