I'm wondering if anyone has tried Swissstop brake pads from Helvetia sports (http://www.helvetiasports.com/HSP/HelvetiaSports.aspx?pn=1) ? They sound pretty good. I contacted them and they assure me these pads won't squeal on my tandem...or my money back!

Money back- less shipping/handling both ways from and back to Switzerland? There's a money back guarantee on most herbal fake prescriptions you see on TV. Doesn't have any meaning anymore... they'll submerge their costs in teh S&H flat rate that's not refundable. having said that, let us know how the pads work. What others have you tried? I don't get too much sqealing from regular SHimano pads. I think a lot of it is adjustment.

I do get squealing from shimano pads but I also get Consistent good braking. I have tried a great number of Brake pads, but keep coming back to shimano.

Who said they are coming from Switzerland? Helvetia's address is in Cananda. The contact I have has a phone number in the US. My price includes shipping. Don't be such a cynic.

dude: cynical I may be, but at $120 a set for pads designed for carbon wheels, there are many words I could use to describe your post that are far less flattering. For a post like this, it helps if you give some technical details like what kind of wheels/braking surface is being discussed and what style/brand of brakes. Even the cables and levers may be of interest. Bontrager sells carbon pads for about $40 as does Shimano, Corima, etc... you might consider trying them before shelling out $120.

I'm confused. Where did you see a price of $120? Who said anything about carbon pads? I have a price of about $25 per bike. I'm looking at the green compound, not the yellow. The green is not a carbon pad.

Key word is most -- and that means not always. There are many factors causing squealing. Try cleaning the pads as well.

Not sure where you saw $120, but I see $35 for a set of four plus shipping.

punched in Swisstop and got $120 pads...

UPDATE: I have a set of these pads coming. I will let you know what they are like.
