Cyclocross - bought first cyclocross bike yesterday

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Just bought my first cyclocross bike yesterday. I am a road cyclist. Was looking for new training/winter bike and LBS said they had a demo bike available. I bought the 2005 Cross Veloce that is in perfect shape. Had been ridden only a couple times. Have good relationship with LBS as have bought bikes with them previously. Paid $1250.

At this point, not sure if I'm going to ride cyclocross but the owner of LBS is very excited about it. at this point, this bike will be my outdoor training bike and used for bad weather and possibly off road. Will do some research into cyclocross and follow the message board here for a while.

In the past have done triathlons. might have some interest in cyclocross.

If you want to try out some races come down to NC starting Jan 7th for the Winter Cup. It's a lot of fun.

That's a really nice bike at a even better price.

Do they have any more? (Don't say yes - I'm not allowed to buy any more bike stuff).

Well, at the very least, cyclocross is waaaay cooler than triathlon, so you're headed in the right direction!

(nice price on the bianchi!)

Yeah, I love the campy. That's one reason the LBS thought of the demo model for me.

Can't wait to get out on it this weekend.
