I'm having trouble viewing PDF's in the Firefox browser window when clicking on links to PDF's. The URL will be www.something.com/something.pdf but i will just get a blank white screen, displaying 'done' as if everthing has loaded and nothing is wrong in the bottom left corner.

Do I need to activate a setting for 'PDF' viewing in Firefox? Does anyone know whats happening?

cheers :)

(i am running Adobe Acrobat 7.0, Firefox 1.5)

if you go to edit - preferences in acobat, there's an 'internet' section. check to see if 'display in browser' is enabled.

else, re-install acrobat reader or use the 'change', 'repair' option in add/remove programs.

If you installed Firefox after you installed the Adobe reader, you may need to reinstall the Adobe reader. One of Firefox's weakness's is detecting available plug-ins - I've had this happen once with Acrobat, and every darn time I install a new version of Firefox I end up having to reinstall Flash and Shockwave plug-ins as well.

Well I downloaded and installed Acrobat 7.0 last night, and firefox 1.5 has been installed for about 3weeks now.

bigsky - that is all checked.

Ok now I downloaded an extension for firefox for .pdf viewing files, everytime you click on a 'pdf' link it will ask you to a) save the pdf, b)open in a new tabe or c) open as html.

So I still can't get the .pdf working, but if i select open as html it works good :)

Actually no it all works good now :).

bigsky - I un-checked and re-checked the 'boxes' in the internet options in Acrobat and applied them. It seems to all be working now, and I also have this nifty extension that will pop up evertime I go to a .pdf location on the net...
