Recumbent - we did it

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

We bought our fist Bents today. It was our x-mas gifts to each other. We also couldnt beat the price. They are Bacchetta Giro's. :D Now it just has to warm up but that doesn't happen here in Wi. for awhile  .

Welcome to the dork side. :)
We need photos.......
Find a nice covered parking deck and learn the basics of tooling around there. You will be very wobbly at first and will quickly learn to downshift before you stop. Try some up hill starts on the ramps, check out the brakes and handling in turns. Finally, by the end of winter you can start reaching for the water bottle without losing your balance or gyrating all over. It will take you 100 miles or so to acclimate to the peculiarities of the bent. Practice in a dry wideopen parking deck will facilitate the transition.
