Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Kogswell Hubs

I remember there was a Kogswell offer on here a bit ago for someone to try out a pair of Kogswell FG hubs and write a review... Did that go anywhere? I'm in the new-hub market and was looking out to see if that ever came to fruition. (I like the look of them and wanted to see if there was a decent comparason/review out there.)

Nothing bad has been said on this forum; though let us be realistic and point out that Kogswell employees seem to frequent this site.

not that he needs me to clarify this, but Matthew isn't just a Kogswell employee; he is Kogswell. i think Shants got the hub (IIRC, it was just a rear).

the kogswell 'offroad' hubs are the same as the IRO 'offroad' hubs, correct? if so, i can recommend them. haven't had any issues whatsoever. smooth bearings. truly hubs of the 'mount and forget' variety.

I've had the 135mm hub for about 9 months. Mostly used on the road with some occasional off-roading. The bikes really set up for road use with slicks and rigid fork so the off road use has been fairly gentle.
So far they have been problem free. The bearings are starting to get a little rough but probably just need some freash grease.

For the price they are good hubs. Good threads, decent bearings with proper grease.
They do have a few negatives, mostly to do with the locknuts. They are large and steel which makes them heavy. They don't do the greatest job at shielding the bearings and the flats need a 19mm cone spanner which can be hard to find.

63xc.com has a flattering review of them, but I'm hoping to see the BFFG review, too. kogswell posted a poll recently about ordering 36hole hubs in the spring. That, with a good review (shants?), will make me more inclined to go with a kogswell this spring.

The 135mm hubs are the same as IRO.

We have very few problems with our hubs. Very few.

The 120/32s are in stock now.

And I'm orderng a high-flange/36 hole version, front and rear. They'll be nutted front and rear. The quality will continue to be well above the Formula hubs. And we'll have them available as wheels built w/ the same Kinlin rims that Tony's using now.

And since we sell direct (and don't have to deal w/ bike shop markup) our prices will be very competative.

BTW, has anyone taken delivery on IRO wheels w/ Kinlin rims? I like the Kinlin quality and I'm wondering what others think.
