I didn't know where else to post this...

Just wondering if anyone has done/seen/tried to put clamp on aero bars on mtb handlebars and w/ what results. Basically my ultimate goal would be to be able to use Rapid Fire shifters and be able to get in aero position for road riding.

I see it all the time on big organized rides like GOBA in Ohio. People try to make an MTB into a more suitable road bike by fitting slick tires and aerobars. They give another hand position and do allow a more areo position on a bike really not intended for it. They are certainly cheaper than another bike.

Seen it done. Does sort of look goofy.
