What are peoples opinion on the stuff? I got these tempurpedic slippers, and they are quite something. A very nice thing to have for folks with flat feet...

I have a Tempurpedic pillow and love it. It's their contoured one, but I also want their standard shaped one. I used to get crooks in my neck using big stuffed pillows before, and I never get them now. I won't go back to a regular pillow.
It's nice when you don't wanna move around.
Like the viscoelastic stuff in racing helmets. I had one of their pillows but I like to twist and turn, it just wasn't for me. Down all the way. :)

I laid down on one of those beds, but it takes a LOT of effort to roll over. If you're firing up your muscles, you're waking up your brain.
But some people swear by them.

A co-worker was answering questions when I was thinking about one last December. She said that the foam doesn't go back into shape after some time. She had to replace hers after less than 10 years. But apparently she liked the feel because she replaced it with another one.
I did end up buying a memory foam bed, but not a tempurpedic. There are many out there with the "same" foam as Tempurpedic for much less. I got a nice king sized one with a pillow top mattress. Anyway......I tend to agree with her....it kinda holds its shape a little. You REALLY have to turn the mattress every week or two or feels a bit funny. I don't dislike it....it is very comfortable, but I don't think I'll by a memory foam mattress next time.

I used to have a tempurpedic lumbar pillow for the car seat. Then one day I had the bright idea to nuke it in the microwave for a warming effect.
Bad idea. I destroyed the foam with that little science experiment.
I've laid on them in the store but didn't get one. Wound up getting a Select Comfort (the "sleep number" bed) and love it. I can adjust it for how I feel and it's great.
My brother got one, too, and then decided to try the Tempurpedic bed. After a few nights, he returned it and went back to the sleep number bed.
My mom's had her sleep number bed for going on 10 years now with no reliability issues at all.
Feel free to PM me if you want some more info.
Hahaha... I have a regular bed that loses shape before 10 years too... I wouldn't expect much heh.

That tempurpedic foam loses its ability to spring back in just a few years. My pillow is like a brick nowadays; it slowly conforms to your shape but is oh so slow to change should you roll over.
If you really want a swank mattress, check out the 100% latex foam mattresses. Last forever, expensive as hell. They don't bother having infomercials.
