Hi, I've been commuting for about 6 weeks now (9 miles each way) and I'm loving every minute of it. Just got a new road bike (Klein Quantum Race) as I was using a full-suspension mtb for the commute.

I'll now have to ride through the winter to justify spending the money! Spending money seems to be never ending, so many gadgets and gizmo's to buy at the LBS and on the Internet. Argh! Help me cut up the credit card...

Is it weird to enjoy a ride all the more when the weather is bad? I think I had my most enjoyable cycle ride last Tuesday when it was tipping it down with rain and the wind was rather strong. I had a huge grin on my face when I finished. Far my enjoyable than driving my car.

I ride/race better in the bad elements..some people are just like that. They thrive when the cards are stacked against them.

Good luck in riding in the winter, I ride to work and train through out the winter and have a blast

I rode home last night in the rain. Something about riding in the wet that I just love. O.k., not the cleaning the bike afterwards part, but the water dripping down your face thingy.

It's usually cooler, and that's a good thing down here in FL.

I guess it reminds me of when I was a kid and all we did was ride our bikes all around town. When it rained, we had a blast!

I dunno, I just dig riding in the wet!
