Hello all!

I'm not sure how many out there are into Old School BMX, but I thought I'd give it a shot in case there are a couple old freestylers here...

Here's my collection:
1985 Skyway Streetbeat

Boss Pro wheels?

I think they called them Z-rims? You could straighten them by freezing. -Or so the stories went when I was young.

I think the term you might be looking for is: Fork Standers or screw-in Fork Pegs. LOL

I've never heard of the Boss mounts, or peg bosses... just brake bosses, which are generically called 990 mounts I guess, right?

Those blue wheels are Skyway Tuff Wheels. They still make them, but only in white and black. If you're lucky you can get ahold of colored Tuffs, if you can find 'em!

I've heard the urban legend of the rims you can put in your freezer and they'll straighten out.... I always thought they were called 'Araya Freeze Rims'.... hahahaha... ohhh childhood...

The Streetbeat frame/fork/handlebars are NOS. The FST is a survivor. The Boss is almost completely NOS except for the stem and brakes. And the Master is rebuilt. I had the Frame/Fork/Handlebars/stem/seatpost powdercoated and new decals applied. All the parts are NOS.

Here's some pics of the Master before:

Nice bikes.

I'm currently working on a redoing an '82ish GT Mach One. Although, I'm going for more of a rough look with a raw frame/fork.

The real reason for my post is the wheels, though. I found a great pair of lavendar Tuf Wheel IIs in my old stuff that I'm going to use. Seeing that Skyway, though, I think you might have a better use for them! :)

Not so into pastel color -but what a nice offer!
That bike would be done AND done with purple rims.

A swap maybe?

The ACS Z Rim was a graphite/epoxy compound similar to the Tuff Wheel. It was supposed to flex, then go back into shape.

Gentlemen, I do have to request that you discuss any swaps/trades by PM.

Got that right. That Skyway would be TIGHT with lavendar Tuf Wheels! Especially since they'll look a bit "out of place" on the ghetto cruiser that I'm putting together.

I'd consider a trade. But, we should respect the forum mods and take any talk offline. Feel free to shoot me an e-mail.

Oops sorry, just an idea I had.

Holly time-warp!

I have mixed emotions about seeing those bikes. Very cool seeing bikes like what I used to ride. Sad to think they were originally owned by people who didn't ride them enough to break them (considering they had about a 3 month lifespan back then). I just finished throwing out a garage full of old broken Haro's and GT's from the early/mid '80s. Nostalgia good - no room for new bikes in garage bad.
