Nice, well written article. The Strib should take notes.
I thought that this was a pretty good article about the how-to of winter cycling, though I do several things differently than what the sources do. It erks me a little that the first paragraph quotes someone who has been hit by cars 7 times in 12 years. Maybe I'm lucky, but I've been hit 3 times in 25 years, and 0 times in last 17 years of riding somewhat sanely. I think that first paragragh is likely to be discouraging to potential winter cyclists.
Also, I've parked out in the snow for many years without my bike rusting and breaking in two, I've never had lock freeze up, and I find winter riding is only a little slower, on the usually clear streets. Agian, this is my experience, and I don't know that I'm a typical winter commuter.
