Looks like a solution in search of a problem to me: either your tire is good and it doesn't leak, or it's punctured and the in-hub pump is no use, or it's leaking slowly and you'll never know because the hub pumps it up constantly, but also steals your pedalling power in the process.

Looks like a solution in search of a problem to me:
i think that's a LOT of innovations, especially a lot of stuff out of Japan...
You never know what innovations like this lead to. It may look like a crazy idea but it could end up leading to a cure for........premature baldness! :D

But there is a catch for real lazy types. The bike must be ridden at least 1.8 miles (3 km) a month to work properly.
There's always a catch, isn't there? Maybe you should have put this in the touring forum. They're the only ones I know of that could possibly rack up nearly 2 miles!!! a month. ;)
I wonder if the valve hisses when it releases excess air. That would put me into a cold sweat hearing that and I would always wonder if it's the valve or a real puncture. I can see a real use for it with the casual couple-of-miles-after-dinner types.
hehehe...nice, bike like hummer technology, i think too heavy :(
