Spent the past few days with my parents. Mom is 59 or so, and going through menopause (I know, more info than you needed...but you gotta have it to get the story!).
My son is 3 years old.
Grammy was constantly having hot flashes - all the darn time. She would sit and fan herself with any book, magazine, anything she had handy.
My son always wanted to know what Grammy is doing.
So I told him. It's called a hot flash, and Grammy is going through menopause. He can say hot flash AND menopause very well.
Fast forward to my son, my wife, and I at the mall. We are standing in line at the checkout, and - of course- the woman in front of us (mid to late 50s) grabs a magazine and starts fanning herself.
My son immediately, and VERY loudly announces..."Look daddy, that lady is having a hotflash and menopause!" So loud that people 3 and 4 ailes away started laughing.
The lady turned around and said "looks like he's an observant little fellow."
To which I replied, "Yeah he is. Sorry about that."
She said "No harm, no foul" and continued checking out, although she DID look a little redder and warmer than before! :D
Ahhh yes...that's my boy!
