Work just sucks, especially when it cuts into the ride time. I brought my bike to work, go the Camelbak ready, had a great ride all Planned out.
I was going to ride over the Golden Gate bridge and into the Headlands for some Dirt Action.
But noooooooo....I'm stuck here working late.

Sorry, I had to rant. I get a little cranky when I miss my ride.

Oh man I could(not)wait a long time to ride where you do in SF, that would be a dream come true for me,even if you have to wait an hour or two too ride there, I like have to wait maybe year or two before I can get there to ride...so if you're patient enough I'll come get'cha and we'll do the dirt in the park near the bridge...yeeaahh baybee...

Hey Buddy, if you make it to the Bay Area shoot me an email and we'll go hit some Dirt around here. Some great and very beautiful trails. Better yet, I'll take you to the Sierra's where there is a ride that contains a 15 mile (sorry, don't know how to convert to km) downhill.

Joe (though I know that is not your real name),
Awww, man! I have to start checking the forum when I travel. I was just in SF week before last. Probably didn't have time to take a ride, but we certainly could have hoisted a pint or something. Maybe next time. Rainbabe says we must return.

Raymond

Raymond,

I suggest you consider changing your "title" in the future, as it becomes applicable, from FOBGOB (Fat Old Bald Guy On a Bike) to SMACK (Slender Middle Aged Cycling King). I am looking out for you, my cycling brother. We
cannot let a fellow cyclist's image slip, or we all will take it on the chin!

I am in the process of coming up with my own acronym. I have been toying with a few:

1) SMOOCH - Smooth Mellowed Out On Cycling Hooligan
2) GREASE - Green Recycled Environmentally Active Schoolboy, Esquire
3) FOOL - Fellow On-road, Over Land
5) NUT - Nice Underside and Tummy
6) GOMER - Get Off My Edge of the Road
7) PETECLARK - Please Endeavor To Extend Cycling Love Among Road Kings
8) IYRMOIHMBGCIYGTAMS - If You Run Me Over I Hope My Bike Gets Caught In Your Gas
Tank And Makes Sparks
9) SABH - Smile And Be Happy

:) LIPSMACK (Live In the Present, Slender Middle Aged Cycling King!)

Rainman, shoot me an e-mail the next time you head out to the Bay Area. We'll have to hook up in the city. Plus if you can make some time for some riding we'll hit some of the trails in the area. Incredible scenery.

That also goes for everybody else in here. If you make it to the Bay Area look me up. I'll be more than glad to play tourist guide.

Thanks for the offer, Carlos. We didn't get to do everything we wanted to so Rainbabe says we must return. I told her I was DEFINITELY going to rent a bike next time. I am sure it will be a year or two. Maybe by then I will be able to keep up with you! Maybe we could even head out to Moutain View and ride with UncaStuart and Sam on their tandem. But they might embarass us by kicking our butts.

Pete Clark, I stand in awe of your creativity! I think I will stick with FOBGOB until I have earned something more flattering. Or I could just change the meaning, like Formerly Overweight Balding Guy On a Bike. Though I must admit that "Fellow On-road, Over Land" does have a nice ring. I am not really that bald, just very thin on top. Rainbabe calls it cotton candy hair, as in "I got a haircut the other day, actually both of them." :)

Rainman
