Anybody see this (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7192443435) auction? Check out that stem. Cool stuff.

Not many NEW ideas of late. Notice the "ovalized" tubes at the bottom bracket, Ritchey did that in the 70's and it was considered new then...
I happen to like the fork crown myself. This would be a difficult bike to find parts for, and when found would be expensive.

Wow, if it were lugged... ;)
No, I wouldn't buy it. But it's really somethin' to see, eh? :)
I'm glad to see that you listen to great music. I have Television's "MM" and "Adventure", I don't know about that later one. Do you play the guitar? I don't, but I bet someone who does would be totally turned on by those albums.
My fav. tracks on the the '77 debut are Prove it and Torn Curtain, plus that ultra-tight "A Mi Amore"(if you bought the new release w/ bonus tracks).
On their '78 follow up; Careful, Carried Away, and The Fire.
But sorry to say that right now I'm listening to soul and jazz music, particularly Nina Simone. You ought to give her a try later on... she rules. :D

That frame is probably the whole frame version of the Lambert Death Fork!
I have seen several listings from CyclArt on Ebay, and everything they list is expensive as hell. They were trying to sell a battered Raleigh International with lots of non-original parts for about $800. No way!
Also, I saw a listing for some Campy hubs, listed for more than the price that was plainly visible on a price tag in the photo.

If you cannot go to Vista Ca, then you must pay the export price.

That is fair and reasonable, but it is bad form to show a lesser price in their picture.
I can go to Vista, CA. I live about 20 miles south of there. I should drive up and check the place out one of these days.
Interesting bike. Brings to mind the question: Who says aluminum woun't last?
I'd be fairly comfortable with it lasting, unless there's obvious cracks, but there's no telling what alloy (if any) that it was made with. Might be pure aluminum, which will have lots of accompanying problems. I find it interesting that someone started to polish the thing (the top tube) and quit. I'd suspect that pitting may be too bad to salvage the finish.

They have interesting bikes, a great stash of vintage parts, and an impressive painting facility. I can vouch for the quality of their paint jobs, and Jim has been able to find a few rare bits for me, such as Weinmann straddle cables and Campag. seat post fittings.

Yeah. I wouldn't buy it either, but it's an interesting history lesson.
I love the Television reissues. You can finally hear the drums! My band has been covering "Guiding Light" lately, which is great fun.
I do like Nina Simone because you can tell she doesn't give a &%*# what people think.

:( Aw, I'm too young to have heard the LP's... I didn't hear the earlier cd's either... lucky me! Yeah, it's funny, Guiding Light wasn't one of my favs at first, now it is. Anyway, nice to see the title of that sweet album around BF. :)
Peace out.
