Redneck XLT is VERY VERY NICE. BUt, it does have a long reach(I think about 52?), so some people doen't like it because they barspin a lot. With a longer reach on the stem, when you spin the bars it goes farther...hmmm that doesn't sound right, it's kind of hard to explain. But I barspin with that stem, and I don't notice anything to difficult about it. But maybe that's just because I don't have anything to compare it to though. Great stem though.

It seems that some people have the Elementary, and it works 100% fine, and other(such as myself), it slips. I got lucky because I was able to exchange mine for a Redneck XLT after it slipped a bunch on me. I just *****ed at Dans people over the phone and they eventually took my beaten up Elementary back. Haha
im thinkin....unless anyone suggests somthing else....redneck?

If i remember correctly, you put it on upside down.
i feel like whether or not you put it upside down it should still hold the bars just as tight....

Well, you obviously don't remember correctly, or atleast you don't remember the whole story. What I said was, when I was putting it on, I put it on upside down(which means nothing, except that the Logo isn't showing), and before I even tightened anything down I saw it was wrong, and I changed it. It's exactly the same either way, so it doens't matter, but I did not ride with it upside down.
So, why would it matter anyway?

Most likely, you didn't follow the damn instructions, like 99% of the other people that had problems with the Elementary.
That being said, my Redneck XLT is holding my bars just as well as my two Redneck LTs, Redneck, and GFR did.

the elementary is supposed to be really good if u follow the directions and grease it...........go to www.bmx-test.com for some reviews

I did grease the wedges, and the bolt, adn I did NOT get grease on the wedge part that comes in contact with the bars. Almost everyone I see riding it with no problems, over tightened it. I followed the directions, and stoped when they told me to stop. It said only a certain amount of thread on the bolt could be showing on the other side before it was tightened to much to the point where it could start crushing your bars and fork. Just because I did not want to risk my bars and fork in roder to keep my bars from slipping.
It's funny too, how when I said I was getting the Odyssey stem, everyone who responded said "It sucks, it slips, blah blah blah.", and when I said I was returning it, everyone said "You're dumb, the stem works fine, you must be ********.". FUnny how that works huh?

yeah........but why the bars are slippin i dont know? try spraying your bars down with some windex [ like where the contact the stem] or contact cleaner because my bars were slipping and i jst wipped off the old paint where it came in contact to the stem with some disk break cleaner and my bars havent slipped since.....
