Hey, do you ever take your Tri bike out for a fun ride. Not training, but just cruising on the streets?
If not, why not?
If so, where do you carry your spare tube/pump/etc?

[ ] on my back
[ ] on a temporary bike rack
[ ] other which I will explain.

I only ride my tri bike only and most of the equipment is on the X-lab (example of what it looks like at http://trisports.com/xlflbakit.html) which can hold the spares, C02 cartridges, and C02 pump system. For longer rides, I will carry more equipment in the back of a bike jersey.
Doesn't matter what type of bike you are talking about, they all get a "fun ride" some of the time! Or a quick pop down to the shops on them...
Because riding all bikes are FUN!

Mathmo, you missed the point. Where/how do you carry the stuff in case of a flat?
I have a saddle bag and put some stuff in my 2nd water bottle.
Mathmo, you missed the point. Where/how do you carry the stuff in case of a flat? Oh, maybe because I generally don't carry anything at all.
If you get a flat just tough it out and carry your bike with you as you run back! If you get stranded 65km away think of what great running training this is....

That's not my idea of fun. Topeak has an interesting seat bar that is supposed to work on all bikes. I think that will solve the problem. It is speced for carrying 15-20 lbs. I don't want to carry that much.
thanks for your comments.

If you want to be a minimalist, you can just use electrical tape to attach a tube, tire levers (if you use them) & CO2 inflation system to your seat post. I wouldn't go anywhere without these basics. Carrying a cell phone in your jersey wouldn't hurt either. I hate walking more than 10 feet in bike shoes--walking your bike home 2 miles is enough to tell you that you should have been better prepared.

On the occasional tri-bike commute (just for kicks) I usually carry all the things I normally would; cell phone, money, co2, tube, etc.

nice looking bag, but I hate it when you don't get LxWxH and CuIn capacity.

My tt bike has tubulars on it so taking tubes/co2/tire irons is pretty much a mute point. I do take a small tool and a cell phone in the jersey though.
