While reading "Armageddon" by Max Hastings (a book on the final months of WWII) I found this passage (page 410):

"On 30 September in Haarlem, a German staff car swerved around a corner, forcing a Dutch cyclist to leap on the pavement. The Dutchman shouted angrily at the German driver. The officer in the car responded by tossing a grenade. . ."

Ouch.

Be assured, the Germans were capable of doing a lot worse than this in the occupied countries.

At least the post wasn't a typical "cager-hating" generalization that claimed all cagers throw grenades.

You are kidding I hope. Last time I checked, "cager" was not listed among George Carlin's 10 words you can't say on the radio.

You sure have a wild hair about the word "cager".
I think it's a perfectly good word.

As someone else posted:

Motorists=someone who drives a car.
Cager=someone who dosn't know any better.

Is this getting through to you, ILTB? Not all motorists are cagers. I sometimes drive a car myself, but whilst on the road, I'm driving as if I'm on the side of other cyclists out riding, and wishing I was riding myself.

What he doesn't understand is that his dislike of the word means precisely squat, especially with the number of people here who use it on a regular basis.

I mean, heck, I find him offensive but I don't ask him to stop posting. Instead, I just ignore him.

I am now offended by the word "bike". It should only be used to refer to xmart purchased vehicles with 2 wheels.

Hey, if we organize, each agreeing to be offended by a specific word, we could make it un-PC to say anything at all!!

But I won't ever tell someone else they can't say what they like. I have, however, used the kill filter on this board (once, so far). You can say it, I don't have to listen.

Yet again, +1.

There's a lot of people that use a lot of prejudice words on a regular basis. That doesn't make them any less offensive.

I wonder how long a thread would remain intact if I used the word '******' or '****' or '******' or 'Republican' in the subject? Indeed, once I post this I'll be interested to see which of those words remain intact.

Edit: the N word didn't make it, but the others did...now let's see if the mods do some snipping of their own. Why is it that some derogatory words are 'more' offensive than others?

Arghhhh....
They all suck

10:30 AM on a Wednesday, traffic was light on 4-lane. All the other drivers passed with room to spare, but the white car at the end of the vid (http://www.zippyvideos.com/3151307863017536/cagers/) just didn't want to be bothered to pass safely.
