A couple of months ago my civic was totaled, so I had to get a different car. I had wanted to get a camaro for some time, but for cheaper insurance and because I got a good deal I got a mid 90's Crown Victoria. The only problem that it has right now is that it needs a new door pin to remedy the doors sagging down and eating away the latch.

I bought a new pin, but I am unable to get the old one out. I tried punching it out with a nail set, but it won't budge. I also tried pulling on the bushings with vise grips, but that also did nothing. So somebody please tell me the correct way to pull the old pin before I mess something else up.

are you supporting the weight of the door when trying to remove the pin? cause if the door is sagging, that's probably adding laterial pressure to the pin and making it impossible to get out. sorry if that seems really obvious...

is the pin bent? you may have to go between the hinges with a hacksaw to remove it... if it's bent it's not going to come out with hammering.

Timhaan, I actually pulled the door off its hinges, only to fail to get the pin out.

Sawzall it is!
