Bicycle Mechanics - Loose non-drive end cap on older Hugi Hub?
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Well thats about it, I have a loose end cap on the non drive side of my older hugi rear hub. Has anyone rebuilt these? I have looked at the website manuals and so forth and it looks like some work. I have been working on bikes since I was 5 (I'm 32 now) so I'm not afraid to pop it open, I'd just like some insight.

Are you talking about the seal cover or the piece that caps the axle and fits the dropout?
Mid 90's hubs, the old polished ones. the axle cap that fits the dropout.

I have a set of those at home. I'll take a look. I seem to remember it fits on with a sprung ring or o-ring, but I'll look to be sure.
Ok, so the end cap just snaps on I guess, just like the cassette rotor. That is just crazy.
