When a guy runs you off the road only to stop for loads of traffic about 1/8 mile away... and he has a "How's my Driving?" bumper sticker on his company truck.

So I stopped right behind him in traffic, took out my cell phone and called the number.

Like shooting fish in a barrel.

Good for you. Hopefully the company will really follow up -- some do and some don't, so here's hoping its a company that takes complaints seriously.

At least it wasn't a "give peace a chance" or similar bumper sticker. A vehicle with that on it is a dead giveaway for an innatentive driver.

To bad you didn't also have a marker to write an answer on his sticker.

I have friend who was cut off by a van while he was riding his bike to work.

The van had a bike rack on the back as well as a "Share the Road" bumper sticker.

He'd have one less side mirror. Let him explain it to the boss.

Don't get mad. get even You may have missed an even better gambit. If you had witnesses that is. Years ago a lawyer specializing in Bicycle cases told this story at a meeting of the Orange County Wheelmen. A company driver in a company vehicle on company business forced a cyclist off the road. Later in the story the driver got out grabbed the bikers tire pump and assulted him with it. One or more cyclists and others were witnesses. The cyclist contacted this lawyer, Garry Bustin. He contacted the company. The lawyers for this big company responded with a check book and said, "How Much?" The terms kept Bustin from telling us How Much but we got the feeling it was substantial. Can you imagine how much a jury would give you if a Fedex or Comcast driver committed aggravated vehicular assault? Bustin once told me he knows a lot of lawyers who are good at cycling cases and he can refer a case if he can't get to it.

So BF friends the next time something like this happens document everything, get all the names and numbers you can, get the police involved, and get an expert to help you. Even if you don't get $$$ the fuss can really encourage companies to be more bike tolerant.

I don't believe it was intentional. It was one of those little auto parts delivery Ford Rangers with a grey haired old guy driving. When I caught up to him he was playing with some paperwork. I suspect he was doing that while driving and wandered in the lane.

At any rate, there were no witnesses.

Call back a few times to check on what action they took. If they think you won't go away until they do something, then they are more motivated to take some action.
